TriStar Church is elder-led, following a leadership model prescribed for our benefit by Scripture. The elder-led approach provides us with sound guidance from biblically-qualified men, as laid out in 1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1.
The primary responsibility of an elder is to spiritually shepherd the church (1 Timothy 3:5). As shepherds of the flock, elders are to determine church policy (Acts 15:22); oversee the church (Acts 20:28); ordain others (1 Timothy 4:4); rule, teach, and preach (1 Timothy 5:17; cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:12; 1 Timothy 3:2); exhort and refute (Titus 1:9); and act as shepherds, setting an example for all (1 Peter 5:1-3).
Our Elders meet regularly to pray and provide spiritual oversight on matters concerning the church. Elders are volunteers: the only paid staff elder is the Lead Pastor.
Please take a few minutes during your week to pray for our Elders by name. It is one of the most important ways to encourage and support their leadership and love for our body.
